About Us
B. Safe Consulting is led by B. Scott Kuhnly, with his over 30 years experience in safety engineering having worked as a Vice President / Senior Safety Engineer for a Risk Consulting company, Risk and Safety Manager for a large Connecticut municipality and various progressive loss control / safety positions in the Insurance and manufacturing industries.
He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Fellow in Risk Management (FRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and a OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer. Scott has a BS degree in Management and AS degree in Occupational Safety from Keene State College, and a MS degree in Insurance / Risk Management from the University of Hartford, where he is currently an Adjunct Professor in Risk Management. He has also received a Masters of Public Administration from Westfield State University.
He is a past President for American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) and has spoken at many of their local, regional and national conferences. He has also been appointed by the Governor of CT to serve on the State Insurance Risk Management Board and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. Mr. Kuhnly has been involved with local government for over 25 years in senior positions both appointed and elected.
Building on a foundation of more than 30 years delivering training and consulting services nation-wide, Scott has worked with many Fortune 500 clients in the areas of risk and safety management, behavior based safety, emergency planning, communication, business process improvement, and has developed effective and efficient solutions.
He has been an active member of professional associations, including:
